NFP Forecast at 240k – ING
FXStreet (Barcelona) - Rob Carnell, Chief International Economist at ING, expects US NFP to print a decent figure at 240k, and unemployment rate and wages to remain unchanged.
Key Quotes
“Our base case for the labour report is for a decent payrolls (at least 240K adjusted for revisions), no change in the unemployment rate and no meaningful change in wages.”
“We think that this will be enough, if accompanied by stronger non-labour market data in the coming weeks, to put the June rate hike back on the agenda. In particular, we think this will be reflected in the front end of the yield curve, and also the USD, with little Fed tightening currently priced in.”
